This museum collects and exhibits valuable materials to record the traditions and history of medical education provided in the Higo (Kumamoto) area over time. Materials range from those belonging to Saishunkan, a medical school founded by the feudal lord Hosokawa Shigetaka in 1756, to those of the current Kumamoto University School of Medicine.
